Nutan Nutan 1936 - 1991

Nutan, the former Miss India title-holder, was an outstanding Actress that many a top director have named as their favourite. Nutan's role in Seema (1956) established her in the top league. Then her work with legendary Director, Bimal Roy, in Sujata (1959) and Bandini (1963) placed her in a class of her own. Nutan went on to produce quality work in a number of releases in the 60s and 70s.

The 80s increasingly saw Nutan in roles that didn't really challenge her acting abilities. Actor, Mohnish Behl, is Nutan's son. Though he has a few really big films to his credit, he is really more of a bit-part player than leading man. Nutan is out in front with the record of most Filmfare Best Actress Awards with her five trophies. Nutan died in 1991 but her work will live on forever.
