Filmfare Awards
The Filmfare Awards are considered by many to be the most prestigious of all the various Indian film awards. Often referred to as the “Indian Oscars”,
they’re one of the oldest Bollywood honours still in existence today. The awards were started by Filmfare magazine in the early 1950s and have been issued
every year since, except 1986 and 1987.
The Filmfare Awards are decided through a vote by the public and a jury of experts. Like most other awards, Filmfare Awards are also given out for titles
that were released in the previous year, e.g. the Awards presented in 2009 were for films and music that was released in 2008. Click below to view winners
